At what age can an otoplasty be performed?

How long does an otoplasty last?

Each person is individual and depending on the needs of the patient, otoplasty can last more or less time but on average it can last from 2 to 2:30 hours. This surgery can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia depending on the patient's taste. In my recommendation I prefer local anesthesia because pain control is easily achieved, it is a relatively short procedure, and the recovery of the patient is faster with something additional for the patient and it is cheaper.

Does an otoplasty hurt a lot?

During the surgery, the patient controls the pain well with the anesthetics supplied, however, in the post-operative period, this surgery is usually painful, but the pain is usually controlled with the analgesics recommended by Dr. Yesid Cardenas, who will recommend you.

Are the scars from ear surgery visible?

The scars that are performed in an otoplasty are left very hidden so that they are not noticeable and that nobody realizes that you have undergone this surgery giving the appearance of having natural ears.

Can otoplasty be combined with other procedures?

If the patient is an adult, it can be combined with other procedures to improve the profile of the face such as chin surgery (Mentoplasty), Bichectomy or cheek reduction and other procedures depending on what the patient wants. However, as most of the patients are children, generally no other is performed in them because they must be allowed to grow normally.

How long of disability does an otoplasty produce?
