La abdominoplastia tambien conocida como lipectomía y en ingles tummy tuck es la cirugía estética que mejora el aspecto del abdomen, logrando una forma plana, atlética y juvenil retirando el exceso de piel y el tejido graso de la región infraumbilical (Parte inferior del abdomen) tan molesto y poco atractivo debido muchas veces a los embarazos o cambios en el peso. En Medellín, Colombia esta es una de las cirugías de contorno corporal que se realiza con mayor frecuencia.
Como se realiza una abdominoplastia?
La cirugía se realiza bajo anestesia general y tiene una duración que puede ir entre 2 a 3 horas, se realiza siempre en una institución de salud que se encuentre avalada por la dirección seccional de salud, con un grupo multidisciplinario que esté atento a cualquier eventualidad, buscando la mayor seguridad. Se retira el exceso de piel y tejido graso sobrante del abdomen, estirando la piel superior del abdomen y cubriendo nuevamente todo el abdomen dando un aspecto mas joven y tenso. En quien está indicada una abdominoplastia?
Esta cirugía se encuentra indicada en pacientes que presentan flacidez cutánea que se refleja por la presencia de repliegues en la región abdominal inferior aunque también se presenta en el abdomen superior. Estos repliegues se manifiestan y se hacen mas notorios con el vestuario sobresaliendo por encima del pantalón o jeans, volviendo el abdomen poco atractivo y maltratando la piel. También son candidatas las pacientes que han tenido uno o múltiples embarazos que producen la separación de los músculos rectos abdominales (Diastásis abdominal). Esta separación muscular hace que se vea un abdomen prominente al mirarlo de lado, haciéndolo protuberante que no mejora ni siquiera con una contracción voluntaria. En estos casos no existe ningún otro procedimiento que pueda lograr un buen resultado estético como la abdominoplastia.
En que consiste amarrar los músculos?
Como se mencionó anteriormente, en algunos pacientes se presenta diastásis abdominal o separación de los músculos rectos abdominales generalmente por embarazos previos y otras causas más. Durante la abdominoplastia se busca reconstruir la pared abdominal incluyendo la musculatura de la misma. Por medio de suturas se juntan nuevamente los músculos abdominales, devolviéndole la tensión que la pared tenía habitualmente al mismo tiempo que permite mejorar la forma del contorno abdominal dejando el abdomen plano.
Como queda la cicatriz de una abdominoplastia?
Es una cicatriz que se ubica en la región inferior del abdomen, se busca que sea lo mas baja posible para que pueda ser camuflada dentro de la ropa interior y sea muy poco visible. Habitualmente se extiende de lado a lado dependiendo de que tanta piel sobre la cual puede extenderse mas o menos.
Me deben hacer un nuevo ombligo?
Al realizar el levantamiento de la piel se libera el ombligo y se debe diseñar nuevamente uno, quedando una cicatriz alrededor del mismo. Se pretende realizar un neo ombligo que tenga un aspecto natural y de un tamaño adecuado.
La abdominoplastia requiere drenes?
Existen muchas técnicas de abdominoplastia, en la mayoría se suele usar 1 o 2 drenes. También existen técnicas en las que no se utilizan, pero requieren mas tiempo de cirugía y el resultado es el mismo. El Dr Yesid Cárdenas suele utilizar un dren el cual se muy flexible para evitar dolores o molestias con la manipulación del mismo permitiendo que sea cómodo para el paciente. Este dren se deja durante un tiempo de 10 a 15 días y se retira muy fácilmente.
Se puede combinar la abdominoplastia con liposucción?
Esta cirugía se puede combinar con otros procedimientos, el mas comúnmente realizado es la liposucción o lipoescultura. En donde se realiza además de la abdominoplastia una liposucción a la espalda y al abdomen para mejorar los contornos lo que llamamos lipoabdominoplastia. También se puede combinar con lipotransferencia o la aplicación de grasa en la región glútea mejorando el contorno.
Cuanto tiempo dura la recuperación?
La recuperación es muy individual, sin embargo el tiempo que usualmente requiere un paciente para reintegrarse a sus actividades laborales suele durar entre 7 y 15 días, durante este tiempo se busca que el paciente realice de forma paulatina todas sus actividades. El paciente requiere el uso de faja post operatoria la cual se coloca al quinto día de cirugía y debe utilizarla por 6 semanas.
Esta cirugía sirve para reducir de peso?
La abdominoplastia es un procedimiento que sirve para mejorar la forma del abdomen, si el exceso cutáneo y de tejido graso es abundante puede que la paciente reduzca el peso, sin embargo esta cirugía no tiene ese objetivo. Cuando se busca reducir el peso se sugiere realizarse cirugía bariátrica.
